Why Electronics & Hardware matters in Uttarakhand's schools
Every home in Uttarakhand has appliances that break — mixers, fans, geysers, televisions, mobile chargers, inverters — and in most hill towns there is nobody trained to repair them. Electronics & Hardware trains students to be that person. Pithoragarh (15) and Pauri Garhwal (13) have the largest allocations.
The trade is built around hands-on lab work: identifying components, reading simple circuits, soldering, testing with a multimeter and safely opening, diagnosing and repairing consumer appliances. In senior classes the curriculum extends to solar panel installation, CCTV and IoT devices — all of which are in growing demand in the state.

Desirable: knowledge and skills in installation, repair and maintenance of home appliances. The candidate should be able to communicate in English and the local language, and should have knowledge of equipment, tools, materials, safety, health and hygiene.
Age: 18 to 42 years as on the cut-off date.

What the job involves
- Teach the Electronics & Hardware job-role curriculum, theory and practical, from PSSCIVE textbooks and e-content.
- Teach the Employability Skills curriculum, which is common across Classes 9 to 12.
- Run and look after the school's Electronics & Hardware lab and its equipment.
- Keep attendance, a lesson-plan diary counter-signed by the Head of School, and the programme's MIS data up to date.
- Arrange guest lectures, industry visits and skill competitions, and help Class 12 students with internships and placements.
