Why Plumber matters in Uttarakhand's schools
Household tap connections, sanitation and rainwater systems have expanded across rural Uttarakhand, and every one of them needs installing, maintaining and repairing. Trained plumbers are scarce in the hills, which is why the trade — small in post count — carries very reliable demand. Posts are in Bageshwar, Tehri, Pauri Garhwal and Udham Singh Nagar.
The teacher runs the plumbing lab: pipe cutting, threading and joining, fixture installation, leak detection and repair, and the safety practices of working with water and drainage systems.

Who can register
B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or B.Voc, from a recognised institute / university, with at least 1 year of work or teaching experience
Diploma in Civil Engineering / Agricultural Engineering / Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of work or teaching experience
Age: 18 to 42 years as on the cut-off date.

What the job involves
- Teach the Plumber job-role curriculum, theory and practical, from PSSCIVE textbooks and e-content.
- Teach the Employability Skills curriculum, which is common across Classes 9 to 12.
- Run and look after the school's Plumber lab and its equipment.
- Keep attendance, a lesson-plan diary counter-signed by the Head of School, and the programme's MIS data up to date.
- Arrange guest lectures, industry visits and skill competitions, and help Class 12 students with internships and placements.
